Strike action – Saturday 01 October, Wednesday 05 October, and Saturday 08 October
As I’m sure you’re aware, further strike action has been announced by the railway trade unions that will severely impact on our train services during the coming weeks.
On Saturday 01 October there is a strike by members of the ASLEF and RMT unions representing our drivers and onboard teams respectively. ASLEF and TSSA have also announced a strike on Wednesday 05 October, and the RMT on Saturday 08 October. Like previous strikes, this coordinated action will impact nationally on the services of Network Rail and most train operators.
In our West Midlands and North West Region there will be no CrossCountry services operating on Saturday 01 and Wednesday 05 October. There will be no rail replacement services operating and passengers are advised to consider other modes of transport. On Saturday 08 October there will only be an hourly CrossCountry service between Banbury and Birmingham/Manchester as most signalboxes on the routes we would use will be closed.
As before, information on the impact of each strike day together with further details including ticket refunds is available on our website, and we are actively keeping passengers informed through print and social media. Details can be found at crosscountytrains.co.uk/disruption.
